The Department for Public Health (DPH) within the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS)  is strongly committed to improving and preserving the health and safety of all Kentuckians. In the face of health risks and threats--including outbreaks of disease, natural disasters or acts of terrorism--citizens need to know where to go for answers.

Since 2001, Kentucky’s DPH has received federal funds through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for public health emergency preparedness and planning. CHFS/DPH collaborates with local health departments, emergency management, hospitals and other organizations to increase the preparedness of the commonwealth.
