State's Seventh H1N1-Related Death Reported in Fayette Co.

Fayette County’s third H1N1-related death has been confirmed in a man in his 40s who had significant underlying health conditions.

This marks the third H1N1-related death in Fayette County. Previously, H1N1 was confirmed in a woman in her 50s and a woman in her 60s, both of whom had significant underlying health conditions. Throughout the state, seven people have now been confirmed with H1N1-related deaths.

The 2009 H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine is beginning to become available in small amounts. More vaccine is expected to arrive in the coming weeks. Clinic dates and times for the public to receive H1N1 vaccine from local health departments will be posted as they are scheduled around the state.
