State's 14th H1N1-Related Death Reported in Knox County

Knox County Health Department had reported its second H1N1-related death. The death involves a Knox County woman in her early thirties who had underlying health conditions.

The Knox County Health Department is currently providing vaccine to priority groups and offering a walk-in clinic on Fridays for the LAIV nasal mist vaccine.  The health department is expected to receive enough vaccine for anyone wishing to take it by mid November.  Until you receive a vaccine, it is important to follow the basic guidelines of washing your hands, covering your cough, staying home if you are sick, and getting the vaccine as soon as it becomes available in your community.

For more information, call the state H1N1 hotline at 877-843-7727 or go to the state website www.healthalerts.ky.gov for the latest news on the H1N1 Influenza.
